What is SASS! Public Relations?

We are a public relation, marketing, advertising, event planning agency committed to helping our clients stand out in their area of influence. We offer full-service graphic and web design, too. Our dazzling custom gift wrapping adds a little extra fun and creativity to our menu of services!

How long have you been in business?

I started SASS! Public Relations in 2006 and daughter-in-law Anna Sass joined a few months later. Our first office at University Park was in mid-town Stockton and we moved to Lincoln Center several years later. We are currently in a bright and cheery office in Lincoln Center directly behind Silveria’s Floral Shop. Stop by anytime for a cup of coffee or a little chat on our back patio!

What’s a quote or mantra you live by?

Anna: Colossians 3:17

Carrie: Life is short. Do stuff that matters. Important stuff. And….God made all the colors so use them. If you visit our office, you will understand.

Carrie, how do the two of you utilize your strengths to create a good team?

We are fortunate that both of us have completely different talents and skills. I am the creative idea person and community connector – Anna is the thoughtful, dependable planner. Thankfully we share core values of faith, family, integrity and a strong work ethic. I am blessed to have had my daughter-in-law Anna at my side for more than 12 years.

Anna, what’s your favorite part about your leadership role at SASS!

The relationships that I’ve developed over the years. We are blessed to provide marketing and event services to many passionate people who genuinely want the best for their business, each other and our community. It is a pleasure to work alongside them as we share the common goal of making this world better than it was yesterday.

What’s the biggest event you produce?

Several events are in this category! The Records Literacy and Book Fair – Family Day at the Park is one of the biggest events for numbers of vendors (80) and people attending (20,000). It is all about the kids in our community and sharing the importance of literacy. Because of generous sponsors, it is free to the public. The 2019 Family Day is moving to a new location – Weber Point Event Center – Saturday, September 21.

Another event that is large in scope is the Ironstone Concours d’Elegance benefiting 4H and FFA. Led by John, Gail and Stephen Kautz, it is held on the beautiful grounds of Ironstone Vineyards in Murphy’s. This year we anticipate more than 400 vehicles and 5,000 people. Join us Friday, September 27 and Saturday, September 28. It’s worth the drive up the hill!

What do you ladies like to do for fun?

Anna: I love spending time with my family and friends, cooking, gardening, scrapbooking and golfing!!

Carrie: Getting away to Shaver Lake with family, gardening, day trips and hanging out with my kids and four grandkids.

Give us a word of advice for young entrepreneurs.

Seek out your passion and purpose in life and go after it. You’ve been blessed with particular talents and gifts that make you special – take advantage of them. And most importantly, have fun.
