Grilled, fried, baked, fresh, as a pizza topping, in a quiche, on a bagel or in a gyro…. This is just a start to all the different ways Stockton is going to celebrate one of our favorite vegetables, asparagus! The 7th Annual Great Stockton Asparagus Dine Out will be held April 1 through April 15 at participating Stockton restaurants and some of our very own Lincoln Center restaurants will be participating as well! Bud’s Seafood Grille, Lincoln Cellar, Midgley’s Public House, Papapavlo’s Bistro & Bar, and Squeeze Burger & Brew will be a few of the 30+ restaurants participating in Stockton all coming up with their own unique asparagus dish!

Visit Stockton created the Great Stockton Asparagus Dine Out to celebrate our locally grown asparagus and how it’s used in our local cuisine. Farm to table has become a trend in big cities and us Stocktonians should be proud to know that we are eating asparagus grown by our local farmers who we may even call friends or family. Now that is true farm to table eating! Want to learn some fun facts on asparagus? Check out the blog post on Visit Stockton’s website to gain some asparagus knowledge!

What will Midgley’s Public House be serving up in order to celebrate asparagus? Chef Michael Midgley says, “You don’t have to wait in the long Asparagus Festival lines to enjoy locally grown deep fried asparagus.” They’ll be featuring festival fried asparagus with a sriracha ranch dipping sauce, so you can enjoy it before, during and after the festival! As a main dish, they will be serving a mushroom and asparagus risotto. And as usual, they still have their famous asparagus cigars with sweet chili dipping sauce on the menu. YUM!

Seafood and asparagus? Count us in! Bud’s Seafood will be preparing a sautéed petrole sole over grilled asparagus topped with a beurre blanc sauce. Start your meal with Bud’s deep fried asparagus, specially made with Bud’s house made breading.

Lincoln Cellar has some fabulous asparagus dishes they’re serving up for GSADO. Chef Tim said their goal is “…to highlight the natural flavors of the asparagus without overpowering it with other ingredients. Our customers can expect something different than the normal offerings.”

Ever enjoyed asparagus on your pizza? Head to David’s Pizza here in Lincoln Center to try it out! Their featured pizza of the month is called Asparagus Madness and I think you could guess the key topping. They will also be serving up some deep fried asparagus as a side dish.

Market Tavern loves to work with asparagus. While they use our local stock often in the kitchen, they also sell it in their market! You can find locally grown asparagus in the market side of Market Tavern right now.
