“New Year, Better You” … Instead of trying to change things about yourself, think of qualities you already possess but might not work hard enough on. This year, try and strengthen these qualities to create a better you in 2015.
Think a Positive Thought Every Morning
Sometimes there are those days that you wake up just not feeling your best or maybe a day when everything seemed to not go right. Thinking a positive thought or remembering something you are thankful for everyday can help you realize all the good things in your life. If you even want to go a step beyond just thinking a positive thought, go out and buy a cute journal and write down your thought each day. Then at the end of the year you can look back at everything you were thankful for that year. Check out the nice journals available at Lino Bella!
Eat More Green Food
This resolution to “eat green” may bring you more success than the common “eat healthier” resolution. Eating healthier is a given, but eating green is a specific strategy. So, try adding some kale, spinach, broccoli, and brussel sprouts to your diet! Setting specific goals like this will better set you up to succeed.
Get up, get out and go anywhere! Traveling doesn’t mean you have to go on a 10 day tour of Italy. Traveling could be taking a day trip down to Yosemite with family, or driving down Highway 1 to Big Sur. There is so much beauty all around us; it is important to take time out of busy schedules to get out and explore it!
Give the Present of Presence
This resolution is so very important especially with all the technology surrounding us constantly. When you are with friends, family, coworkers etc., try and give your undivided attention. Make a pact with your family or a group of friends to have no technology while having dinner together. No matter whom you are with or what you are doing, give your full attention.
This resolution can also speak to giving the gift of time. Call your grandmother you haven’t spoken to in a while, volunteer at the local soup kitchen once a month or take 30 minutes out of your day for personal relaxation. With all the craziness in our lives, it is vital to remember these small gifts of presence and time.
Love What You See in the Mirror
Love yourself, treat yourself with respect and give your body what it deserves. In order to live happy and healthy lives we must take care of our bodies by eating nutritious foods and getting the proper amount of exercise. If you take care of your body, your body will take care of you in return.
If you haven’t yet solidified your resolutions for 2015, I hope that these gave you a little inspiration. Once you have finished your resolutions and have them written down, here is a fun idea to help you stay accountable to them…. Go buy a cute frame (Aaron Brothers has great options) and frame your Resolutions somewhere that you will see them everyday like in your bathroom or bedroom. That way each time you walk past your framed resolutions you will remember your goals for the year.
